Resident Evil 6 released on October 2, 2012 for the Xbox 360 entertainment system. Fans got to jump into the shoes of their favorite characters in several interwoven storylines. The latest title in the series gave us many things we had been asking for--yet Capcom still left out a few things they could have added. Now let's look at a few things we should have seen in Resident Evil 6!
5. More Interactive Environments
You know what makes a video game truly fun? It is being able to interact with the small things within the environment. This added feature gives the game a sense of realism that all gamers crave. Resident Evil 6 threw a few interactive elements like being able to play on some of the playground equipment in one of the levels and other small details. However, it would have been great if more items in the game had an interactive element. One of the best video games for doing this is Dead Rising series. I think being able to make anything a weapon and having the ability to interact with items you come across really takes a game to the next level.
4. Better Puzzles
The puzzles in Resident Evil 6 lacked many things and were flat out boring at times. You remember how exquisite and well-designed the puzzles were in the earlier days of Resident Evil? What happened to that? Have gamers and developers just gotten lazy? There are just too many questions without answers. Puzzles are meant to be entertaining and fun. I found myself trying to hurry up and finish the puzzles in Resident Evil 6, because I was starting to fall asleep. I guess we will never get back the intense puzzles that we saw in Resident Evil and Resident Evil Outbreak.
3. Better, More Realistic Zombies
We finally saw the return of zombies in Resident Evil 6, but they just wasn't like we remember from the earlier days. A zombie should not be able to wield weapons, jump buildings and so forth. They are decaying creatures that would not have the capacity to carry out that amount of physical exertion. Also, did I mention they are rotting? This would make them incapable of picking up various weapons and figuring out how to use them. I want our original, undead zombies that we were introduced to over a decade ago. Sorry but a zombie carrying a rocket launcher is more ridiculous than scary.
2. A Little Romance
Yeah, its the apocalypse but can the guy finally get the girl already! Over the course of the series, we have always seen a little spark between certain characters. None is more obvious then that of Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong. Even in the event that human kind is running for their life in every waking moment--you are still going to have feelings and care about those around you. We should see a little romance finally, and Leon sure the hell deserves it. I don't care if that when he finally gets the girl--she becomes ripped apart by a horde of creatures 20 minutes later. I mean at least he got 20 minutes after all these years! Instead, Leon's campaign ends with Ada once again coming into his life to just leave him brokenhearted in the end.
1. A Family Reunion
In an apocalypse, you would probably not come across too many survivors, but those that you did would become family to you. In Resident Evil 6, we saw the return of many fan-favorites such as Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield, but were the hell are the rest?! Really no Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, Cindy Lennox or Alyssa Ashcroft? I would have taken less lame creatures for more familiar faces that we love. I mean your paths would eventually cross in all the madness. Why couldn't puzzles and the storyline involve coming across other characters in the series for fun side-missions? Maybe you come across Cindy Lennox in a Japanese bar serving sake and she needs some special herbs for a new recipe? I mean maybe her and Chris drink a little too much sake which leads to a little romance in the midst of the hell around them. The possibilities here could be endless!
