5. Harley Quinn and Joker (Batman series)
Have you ever heard that there is someone out there for everyone? Well Harley Quinn and Joker prove that this is indeed true. She was once known as Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel–an esteemed psychologist who was treating Joker. During this time she becomes madly in love with him to the point of obsession. Joker takes full advantage of the young girl’s love-sickness and Harley ultimately becomes his moll. A love story proving that even evil villains have the ability to love in their own sick and twisted ways.

4. Zelda & Link (Legend of Zelda series)
We were introduced to Link as the protagonist of the Legend of Zelda series in 1986. Link ventured high and low across the lands to defeat the evil forces of Hyrule and rescue Zelda from the evil Ganon. Link has to endure tons of heartache and sacrifice as he puts his life on hold to gain the needed materials to rescue Zelda each and every time. Link bears the Triforce of Courage and is a humble but brave man. Only someone who truly loves someone would revolve his life around continuously saving and protecting them from danger.

3. Princess Peach Toadstool & Mario (Super Mario Brothers series)
Peach has never hid her admiration for our hero Mario. She has been known to throw this fellow a compliment or two such as, ““Mario, you’re my knight in shining armor!” Mario and Peach prove that opposites do attract in this magical mushroom kingdom. Mario doesn’t let his shortcomings get in the way of how he feels for the beautiful princess. Although portrayed as a short and stocky Italian plumber–Mario has proven that his heart is bigger than he is! Mario is always there to rescue his damsel in distress and what girl could ask for more?

2. Sonic & Amy (Sonic the Hedgehog Series)
Sonic speeds around and never makes time for romance. Amy is a optimistic, high-spirited hedgehog who becomes obsessed with our speedy protagonist Sonic. Amy has followed Sonic around in the series like a little puppy trying to win his heart. Sonic plays hard to get but a couple has never been more meant for each other than these two! While Sonic has always made it clear that he is not interested in Amy’s affection–one day he will slow down long enough to see they are the perfect match. It is one of those situations were it would take losing Amy altogether before realizing how he really feels.

1. Cloud & Aeris (Final Fantasy VII)
Final Fantasy VII followed the protagonist Cloud Strife–a character that is initially part of the Eco-terroist rebel organization AVALANCH–who are trying to stop the evil corporation Shinra. As the game plays out, Cloud joins with others to fight off something even more sinister–Sephiroth! Cloud later meets up with the beautiful Aerith Gainsborough who is a flower merchant being pursued by Shinra. We find out that Aerith is one of the last remaining survivors of an ancient race known as Cetra. The race is said to be uniquely tuned with the planet and Shinra believes she is the key to finding the promised land. As the story develops, Cloud and Aeris become very close during the struggle to save the world. These two are possibly the best couple to ever appear in a video game. Final Fantasy VII has beautiful scenes where the two share close and romantic moments–you even get to go on a date as part of a mini-game. The first time I ever bawled during a game was the moment Aeris died in Final Fantasy VII. The dramatic sequence of her death and Cloud’s sadness would be emotional for any fan of the series. Cloud & Aeries were meant for each other and to follow along in their love story was unforgettable. Their story really proves that true love never dies.
