A Warrior's Odyssey by Penka Kouneva (Album Review)

Video game soundtracks are becoming more mainstream than ever before with the rising quality of composers that are coming into the industry. Great games need fantastic soundtracks to succeed in today's gaming industry, and some of the best soundtracks in modern gaming were created with the hard work of Penka Kouneva, who is a well known composer who worked on titles such as Gears of War 3 and Prince of Persia. In her newest album, A Warrior's Odyssey, Kouneva uses her past experiences and talents she has acquired over the years to create a completely original soundtrack worthy of being featured in one of the best video games of the year.

A Warrior's Odyssey is an ode to gamers and their favorite protagonists in the games they love. The album features a variety of epic battle music mixed together nicely with softer overtures like you'd hear on a mission failed screen or see in a cutscene when a game's protagonist has to rise up against the toughest adversity faced yet. The album also contains three different sections that each reflect a different type of hero and story. Whether you're a big fan of action titles, like your soundtracks to feature good music to headshot noobs to or enjoy relaxing in a fantasy world full of magic and mystery, A Warrior's Odyssey has a great selection of music for every gamer.

A Warrior's Odyssey allowed Penka Kouneva to fully display her skills, and the results were phenomenal. Kouneva is at her best on the album, and gamers can reap the benefits. If you've put numerous hours into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or become tired of the sounds of Call of Duty, simply turn on A Warrior's Odyssey in the background, and you've got yourself a great new soundtrack to continue listening to while gaming.
