PlayStation had a huge month during September with the release of many great full releases as well as some great PlayStation Network downloadable titles. Hopefully, you got to try out many of those great releases that included hit titles such as NHL 13, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Borderlands 2, FIFA Soccer 13, and of course, LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Vita. NHL 13 continued to revolutionize the hockey genre with new features that imitates the sport like never before, while FIFA Soccer 13 produced similar improvements to become the best-selling title in the series’ history. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 produced great results as did Borderlands 2, and LittleBigPlanet has clearly been defined as the largest reason to pick up a PlayStation Vita as the best game on the handheld system. Konami has had to push back the release date of Silent Hill: Book of Memories several times since the game was announced, but the game will finally arrive this month to hopefully give the PlayStation Vita another fantastic title to add to every gamer’s collection. The game is as innovative as any the series has seen by most notably adding multiplayer for up to four players cooperatively. While the game isn’t your typical survival horror title, you’ll be taken on a suspenseful roller coaster ride to discover the secrets of a powerful book that hold the memories of the person who possesses the ancient tome and use the book to change the past. Of course, plenty of PlayStation Vita controls will be evident in this new exclusive thereby making Silent Hill: Book of Memories the most unique title to come along in some time, and you’ll find a fantastic soundtrack created by composer Daniel Licht as well making this a must play title.
4. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection
The Zone of the Enders is a timeless series from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, and as such, the Zone of the Enders HD Collection is one of the most highly anticipated releases for October. Developer and publisher Konami will re-release the classic titles the Zone of the Enders and the Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner with all new features and high definition graphics. The fantastic gameplay returns here for both titles as you clash your giant robot against your rivals in a futuristic world, and the gameplay is nicely complemented by Trophy support for PlayStation 3 owners. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection will also contain new opening animations to give veterans of the series a good reason to come back to the game they love. 3. Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation
Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation is scheduled to release this month exclusively for PlayStation Vita marking the first handheld release for the series on the platform, and the game also introduces us to the first female Assassin protagonist the series has featured. Aveline will battle for the freedom of her people in New Orleans, Louisiana in the year 1765. The exclusive will utilize both touch pads to give complete control of Aveline of the PlayStation Vita and the system’s other hardware for some impressive slow motion kills. You’ll find other unique aspects in Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation as well including the ability to man a canoe in pursuit of your enemies. The launch of the game will also coincide with the release of a brand new PlayStation Vita bundle featuring the game and a special white system.

Developer Bethesda Softworks‘ newest title, Dishonored, is easily one of the best looking games of the year. The upcoming title will allow you to play as a supernatural assassin capable of killing your enemies with an assassin’s typical arsenal, or you can choose face enemies head-on with a variety of powerful spells at your disposal. The steam punk themed world is yours to explore how you’d like, and the game’s deep progression system will allow you to build and power up the type of characters you want to play. Combine Dishonored‘s intuitive gameplay with a beautiful art style that is completely its own, and you’ve got one of the best games of the year for any platform.

Kennedy and Helena Harper will be featured in the most authentic campaign and two other cooperative campaigns featuring Chris Redfield and his partner Piers Nivens of the B.S.A.A. and Jake Muller teaming with Sherry Birkin. After completing each of the game’s three cooperative campaigns, a fourth campaign starring Ada Wong is also unlocked, and to cram even more content into this great game, Resident Evil 6 will also feature the return of the highly popular Mercenaries Mode.
