Final Fantasy X HD Hasn't Been Abandoned

Much beloved amongst Final Fantasy fans, FFX was arguably the pinnacle of Square Enix's enduring franchise. The iconic music, intense mythology, and, of course, blitzball (definition: a bizarre combination of swimming, soccer, and basketball condensed into one sport) all contributed toward the clamor amongst fans worldwide for an HD port on the Vita. With the current trend in iconic PS2 rpgs coming to handheld consoles (ie: Tales of the Abyss, Metal Gear Solid), fans have kept one ear to the ground for any news.

Sadly, there have been no further announcements from Square Enix since last year, but an employee at this year's Tokyo Game Show confirmed the game is still in the works. Square Enix has already stated that the game will be an HD remastered port of the PS2 classic, instead of a full-on remake, however fans are still left wondering whether the Vita will feature the basic version or the international (the latter of which contained optional boss fights, and "Expert" mode, and extra cutscenes to fill the gaps between FFX and FFX-2).

The international content only had the extra cutscenes in Japan. The Eu never got them but hopefully they will update this and include it with the game.

This game was my reason for buying a Vita and it's good to hear it's still in development
