Outlast Promises To Bring The Terror in 2013

A new survival horror title has just been announced for PC entitled Outlast. Players will venture to the remote mountains of Colorado and enter the Mount Massive Asylum. As you may have guessed, this creepy old house used to encase the severely mentally ill but now has been re-opened for research and charity. Things start to get weird since the activities carried out by Murkoff Corporation in this old, creepy house are held under the strictest of secrecy. Journalist Miles Upshur gets tipped off that something may not be right and breaks into the facility to learn more. He soon discovers the horrors that wait inside and must discover the terrible truth that awaits him. Outlast brags to be a true survival-horror experience that will unleash its chaos via PC digital download in 2013. “There are already a lot of great games out there about terrifying monsters that eat brains; we want Outlast’s to be scary because you’ll know the enemies you face still have them,” said Philippe Morin, co-founder of Red Barrels.

“Our team has a lot of previous experience creating big, blockbuster games,” said co-founder David Chateauneuf. “We’re all really excited to see what kind of fear-based emotional rollercoaster we can build on our own!”

When asked for comment, a spokesperson for the Murkoff Corporation responded: “Murkoff does not comment on speculation and rumors, especially ones started by conspiracy theorists and urban myth chasers.”
