The End of an Era: X-Play and Attack of the Show Cancelled
It's a sad day in gaming news as the cancellation of G4 network's
Attack of the Show, and X-Play were reported to end production after
December. AotS, with it's 1,700 episodes, was pivotal in gamer culture,
and along with X-Play would frequently report live from conventions such
as San Diego Comic Con, and E3.
“Attack of the Show and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture,” says the GM of G4, Adam Stotsky.
But why were the shows cancelled in the first place? G4 is attempting to rebrand itself into being more more “upscale, sophisticated guy tv space,” according to a press release, and will possibly be renamed to “G4Men.”
Good luck with that.
