Top 5 Unforgettable Video Game Items

When playing your favorite video games there will always be items that are unforgettable. These are the kind of items that if you see them–you automatically relate them to the video game they came from. They are usually so unique that they can never be recreated anywhere else. Now let’s look at some of the most unforgettable video game items!

5. First Aid Spray (Resident Evil series)
First aid sprays are a well-recognized item of the Resident Evil series. First aid sprays would give the player full health but was unable to cure the effects of poison. Advertisements throughout the series often suggests that the first aid sprays were a product of Umbrella to cure all wounds. A product that would be very beneficial to Umbrella employees with all the dangerous experiments they had to deal with. The first aid spray–although not completely unique–is very well known with the Resident Evil series.

4. Buster Sword (Final Fantasy VII)
The trademark weapon of Cloud Strife–the Buster Sword is a very recognizable item within the Final Fantasy series. It is an iconic weapon due to his massive size which makes it impossible to be thrown. Players find the sword stuck into Cloud’s grave as a memorial in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Fans later learned the history of the sword in Crisis Core with the original owner being Angeal Hewley who was given the sword by his father upon joining SOLDIER. The series always made you wonder how Cloud could carry the large sword being that he had no muscle tone at all. I guess its true what they say about boys with big swords….

3. Coin Block (Super Mario Brothers series)
Coin blocks appeared early on in the Super Mario series and would release multiple coins. The ? block was always a surprise with it either giving items or coins. The blocks are unique to the Super Mario franchise and will always be an unforgettable item within the games. Now if we only had a coin that we could hit to get money! Wouldn’t that be the life.

2. Bile Bomb (Left 4 Dead 2)
Left 4 Dead’s Bile Bomb is a disgusting little vile full of vomit from the Boomer. The throwable container could be used to lure the infected away from players and would allow for a brief moment of rest in the game. Bile bombs distract the infected for longer periods of time than some of the other weapons in the game such as the pipe bomb. Players who get puked on by a Boomer will also draw in the infected and be attacked more frequently by the undead. Bile Bombs will be one item that we will never forget! Wouldn’t it be great if we could only throw a bottle of puke when we needed to distract others for a bit. That would be especially useful for getting your boss to get off your back for a minute or get the children to stop pestering you.

1. Loot Chest (Borderlands series)
We have seen all kinds of chests within video games that are filled with valuable loot–most often referred to as treasure chests. Borderlands reinvented the chest and simply called it the loot chest. The chest’s unique design makes it one of the most unforgettable items for loot to ever appear in a video game. The chest was even offered up to players as part of the Borderlands 2 limited edition bundle where they could store their very own loot for safe keeping. Every time you come across a loot chest in Borderlands you can’t help to get anxious about what is inside. The game really knew how to get players excited for the treasure that awaits!
