Assassins Creed III First Impressions

The time is finally here and fans everywhere can jump into the exciting adventure of Assassin's Creed III. Let's take a look at some of our first impressions.

-This game has more variety in mission locations in the first 4 hours than previous entries had in their entire games. It's nice to see Ubisoft branching out into non-urban areas.

-The Rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper. The over arcing plot for this series is starting to close in on Lost levels of story within story. This one even opens with a recap of the rest of the series which is quite nice keeping in mind that without it or playing the previous games you'd be completely lost.

-Tweaked Controls don't make the combat any less simplistic. Instead of holding a trigger an entire fight to keep myself in God mode I hold the B Button. Also, if you're a longtime fan of the series some of the control changes might take a few minutes to get used to. Or a few deaths at the very least.

Overall, I'm impressed with the game to this point. The level of intrigue the plot provides complete with unique environments and a more combat focused game have kept the experience exciting through the first four chapters.
