Earlier today Electronic Arts released current subscriber numbers showing that their download service Origin now has over 30 million registered users.
Many are attributing this recent dramatic increase to mobile games as well as console offerings that have Origin built into their online functionality. EA also reported that the average purchase on Origin is around 64 dollars, the cost of a new title.
To compare, Valve's Steam platform has over 50 million registered users. This brings EA closer to Valve then they've ever been before.
