Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm Delayed Until 2013

Blizzard already has the first expansion for Starcraft 2 in the hands of beta testers, creating hope amongst players that it would launch before the end of the calendar year. These hopes were doused when on an investor call Blizzard officially gave the game a 2013 release date window.

Heart of the Swarm is currently slated to launch in the first half of 2013 bringing with it many features that fans of the series have been asking for. This includes player progression and clans, two features oddly absent from Wings of Liberty's launch.
