Weird Park: Scary Tales (Video Game Review)

Weird Park: Scary Tales is the newest hidden object game from Alawar Entertainment. The new release continues the story of Weird Park: Broken Time and Weird Party: Scary Tales with the return of the games' protagonists Louis the Clown and Mr. Dudley. The bizarre tale takes our heroes to a magical world where the fairy tales of the past have come to life, and they will need to enter the story worlds to save the children trapped within this frightening netherworld. You'll progress through the game, completing some of your favorite childhood tales such as Cinderella, Peter Pan, Aladdin and more on your way to saving all of the missing children. The story is a lot of fun and one of the best qualities featured in Weird Park: Scary Tales.

While the story of Weird Park: Scary Tales offers a unique tale unlike many others on the market, the gameplay contained within the game hasn't changed much from the previous entries to the series. The new game is a hidden object title, meaning you'll switch between various scenes in search of new items to add to your inventory by searching a cluttered area of the map. Of course, puzzles are scattered throughout the game as well, and each of these offer up a new challenge, as you solve each intriguing problem to progress further into the game. Weird Park: Scary Tales is a lot of fun to play, but few new enhancements have been made to the series making it more difficult to recommend the game to anyone but fans of the series.

The art of Weird Park: Scary Tales remains as stunning as the series has seen over the last few titles. Additional animations have been added to help bring the drawings to life, and the sound design has improved with another chilly soundtrack that sets the right atmosphere for the game. There is also a lot of content crammed into Weird Park: Scary Tales, so if you're a fan of the series, you'll be spending a lot of time playing through all the game has to offer. A learn-as-you-play tutorial will help ease newcomers into the new release, although, new players that decide to pick up the game should try out the other two titles to fully understand what's going on in the game's storyline. Weird Park: Scary Tales is a fun game that fans of hidden object titles shouldn't pass up!

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Step Back in Time at Ole Towne Café in Ardmore

If you’ve ever wished you could step into your grandma’s kitchen and smell fresh biscuits baking while bacon sizzles in the skillet, Ole Towne Café in Ardmore, Alabama, is the next best thing. Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake. The walls are lined with country décor, the coffee flows like a friendly neighbor’s gossip, and everyone seems to know everyone else. Even if you’re new in town, you’ll feel like family after your first cup of coffee. The menu is straight out of a Southern comfort cookbook. The catfish plates are fried to crispy perfection, the hamburger steaks come smothered in gravy that tastes like Sunday supper, and the breakfast plates are legendary—big fluffy pancakes, biscuits as big as your hand, and hash browns that come golden and crispy. And let’s not forget dessert. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, save room for the pies. Ole Towne Café d...
