Worms Revolution is presented in a three-pronged attack sequence with Matt Berry, Berry and The Mighty Boosh. The characters have perfect comedic timing and have well-written dialogue. The environments have been visually upgraded with a polished finish. The beautiful in-depth graphics add believability to environmental damage. Water now is encased within the level itself which provides that needed extra dimension to the already polished gameplay. Players will notice that water now acts against them and will give a -5 health penalty for each turn that they are underwater. The water also will limit the players ability to move as well. Fans will notice that various objects are found within the environment which can move when struck, give off poison, water or even cause a large explosion. These added touches give Worms Revolution a modern feel for today’s hardcore gamer.
Fans will notice that classes have made their way into the video game which include Heavy, Scout, Scientist, and Solider worms. Team17 obviously has spent a lot of time making each class unique with its own set of abilities and advantages. The worms are able to keep their charm within their movement and demeanor as they inch along to their next mission. Players can also fully customize their new classes of worms with tons of new accessories. Some things that may have been missed in this new title is the lack of new weapons. However, the new addition of Boggy B and his ability to toss grenades anywhere on the map helps make up for this. Worms Revolution is a fantastic new title that will have players grabbing a few friends to wreck havoc on their PlayStation 3.
Team17 has done a great job of taking what fans loved from the classic Worms games and adding just the right amount of touches for today’s modern gamer. Worms Revolution features the classic 2D Worms gameplay within a beautiful 3D environment with four different classes of Worms. The dynamic water and physical objects have been created within the game to give a much added boost to the gameplay experience.
Worms Revolution will be available for PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade & PC and can be purchased for $14.99 or 1200 Microsoft Points.
