The Walking Dead Takes Home Game of the Year Honors at 10th Annual Video Game Awards

Spike TV debuted the 10th annual Video Game Awards last Friday night. The event was hosted by video game and movie star, Samuel L. Jackson and featured performances by composers Jason Graves Lorne Balfe both led an orchestral performance, while other bands such as Tenacious D rocked the show. The awards show also included several surprises and big reveals including new content for the already announced titles Tomb Raider, The Last of Us, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Halo 4: Spartan Ops, Gears of War Judgment and BioShock Infinite and newly announced content was also on display including Assassin's Creed III's Tyranny of King Washington, The Phantom Pain and the biggest announcement of the night, Dark Souls II. Of course, there were plenty of awards given away at the show as well including Borderlands 2 taking home numerous awards including Character of the Year for Clap Trap, Best Male Performance for Handsome Jack, Best Shooter Game of the Year and Best Multiplayer Game of the Year; however, the Game of the Year award went to Telltale Games' The Walking Dead.
