Developer CCP Games announced today that their upcoming title Dust 514 will arrive in open beta on January 22, 2013. The new release will be free to play and download for all PlayStation 3 owners, with the combined worlds of the Dust 514 and EVE Online available on a single server. The combined efforts of the two gaming universes mark the first time in gaming history that two games have coexisted in a single world where one could affect the other and continue to work effectively despite being games from two very different genres. To get in on the action, look for the open beta of Dust 514 releasing next week, and read on for more details!
“The launch of the DUST 514 Open Beta is another step towards our long-term vision for CCP and EVE,” said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP. “But this is just the beginning. As we have done with EVE Online, in the coming weeks, and for years to come, we will continually improve upon and add to the DUST 514 experience, as well as add deeper integration between the two games and their communities.”
Dust 514 is now available free-to-play in beta on PlayStation Network. Dust 514 is rated T by the ESRB for Blood & Violence. For more information on the game, check out the official Dust 514 website.
