The Astronauts Announce Horror Title The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

New development studio The Astronauts, formerly of People Can Fly studios, have announced an all new title called The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The upcoming release is set in a weird fiction horror world where players will assume the role of a supernatural detective who has the ability to visualize the scene of a crime like no other. A new case will have you trying save a young boy by following a trail of corpses left behind by an ancient evil force. The game is currently being developed for PC on the Unreal Engine 3 and is scheduled to debut in 2013. “What we care about the most is that the players feel like they’re really there. Immersion is our number one priority," said the game’s designer, Adrian Chmielarz. “It’s a game about exploration and discovery. We’re not abandoning the gameplay – on the contrary: we’re trying to strip it down to the bone and make sure it’s always meaningful and truly makes the experience better.”
