GREE and Alawar Team Up To Bring Treasures of Montezuma To iOS

A new partnership between Alawar and GREE will bring the new free-to-play Treasures of Montezuma to iOS enabled GREE platforms. Alawar Entertainment, an international multiplatform casual game publisher, plans to release a new free-to-play (f2p) title for iOS on GREE Platform during the summer of 2013. The new project is called Treasures of Montezuma Blitz and is based on Alawar’s popular The Treasures of Montezuma match-3 series. The new f2p mobile title will be available for iOS-users worldwide and will become the first game of the beloved series to be offered on GREE Platform. The Treasures of Montezuma Blitz mobile f2p version is an absolutely new title that is currently under development. The upcoming title is based on Alawar’s leading match-3 series The Treasures of Montezuma, premium and free games of which are available on 14 different platforms and have a growing fan base all over the world with over 75 million installs. The first iOS version of the game was released in 2009; today mobile version consists of three games (iOS, Android, and other) and has a base of over ten million active users.

“Partnership with such a giant mobile gaming market player as GREE gives us an exciting opportunity to enlarge games’ fan base and receive millions of new users. Of course this collaboration requires high-quality title and we are happy that our new Treasures of Montezuma Blitz will become one of the first free-to-play mobile Match-3 games available worldwide and supported by GREE Platform social features and user base. Match-3 as a genre is not yet widely represented on the free-to-play basis and we are confident, that the game as colorful and exciting as Blitz was long awaited by players all over the world”, commented Alexander Dubrovin, Alawar’s VP of Sales & Marketing. Treasures of Montezuma Blitz iOS is a result of multiple experiments Alawar held with now booming free-to-play business model. Currently Alawar conducts an open beta-test of the similar title on Android (available in Google Play) and plans to release an Android version of the game by the end of March 2013.
