CCP Games Wraps Up EVE Fanfest with Plenty of Big Announcements

Developer CCP Games held EVE Fanfest from Reykjavik, Ireland over the weekend, where the team made many big announcements regarding upcoming releases for the worlds of EVE Online and Dust 514. EVE: The Second Decade Collector's Edition was announced at the event to be released in October 2013 and will include 190-page hard cover book that covers the history of the EVE universe as well as a "Rifter" USB hub, the EVE Symphony CD featuring themes performed by the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra live at the event and The Danger Game board game. Next, the team announced the official release date for Dust 514 on May 14, 2013. It was also announced that CCP Games and Dark Horse publishers would be teaming up for an all new comic series for the EVE universe called EVE: True Stories. Finally, the team revealed at the event an EVE television series is currently in the works from acclaimed filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur. Fans can read on to learn more about the television series announcement and see a new trailer that debuted at the event showcasing the EVE Universe: Origins to learn more about this exciting world of science fiction meets first-person shooter available now on PC!

“The EVE universe is full of astounding stories of epic battles, daring heists, and gripping political intrigue, all of which will make for an amazing television series,” said Baltasar Kormákur. “The opportunity to interact with the fans of the EVE Universe directly opens up all sorts of exciting possibilities.”

“The inhabitants of the notorious and beloved EVE Universe have ten years’ worth of dramatic stories to tell,” added Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP. “Our close collaboration with Baltasar and his creative team gives me confidence that we will capture EVE’s essence, inspiring millions of TV viewers with visions of humanity’s future.”

Dust 514 is scheduled to release exclusively for PlayStation 3 on May 14, 2013. Dust 514 is rated T by the ESRB for Blood & Violence. For more information on the game, check out the official Dust 514 website.
