Emperor Arriving On Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download On August 13th
The inspirational movie Emperor is set to arrive on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital download on August 13th. The movie stars Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones and an early Video On Demand window will begin on July 30 for the film from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Read on to learn more!

A gripping tale of love and honor forged between fierce enemies of war and inspired by the true events of General Douglas MacArthur, Emperor arrives on Blu-ray Disc (plus Digital UltraViolet), DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet) and Digital Download August 13 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Emperor will also premiere on Video on Demand July 30, two weeks prior to its Blu-ray and DVD release date. Starring Academy Award® winner Tommy Lee Jones* (Lincoln, No Country for Old Men), Matthew Fox (TV's "Lost," and upcoming World War Z) and newcomer Eriko Hatsune (Norwegian Wood), this 2013 theatrical release is written by David Klass (Walking Tall) and Vera Blasi (Woman on Top), and directed by Peter Webber (Girl with a Pearl Earring).
General Douglas MacArthur (Jones) is sent to Japan immediately after Emperor Hirohito's World War II surrender in 1945 and suddenly finds himself the de facto ruler of a foreign nation. He challenges his expert of Japanese culture - General Fellers (Fox) - to provide evidence in 10 short days to decide if the Japanese Emperor, worshipped as a God by his people but accused of war crimes, be punished or saved? The fate of a nation awaits...
The Blu-ray Disc and DVD include a "making of" featurette, an audio commentary with director Peter Webber and producer Yôko Narahashi, deleted scenes and a photo gallery. Emperor will be available on Blu-ray Disc and DVD for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.
