Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second (Video Game Review)

Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second is the newest massively multiplayer online title from the Gravity Interactive group and is now available to play from the game's website or on Steam for free. The closely follows in the footsteps of its predecessor Ragnarök Online that was released way back in 2003 with plenty of new improvements that offer fans of the series a much more enjoyable experience. Players will enter into a magical world with players from around the world in this MMORPG by creating a new character taking on a job, creating a card deck to give improved benefits to the character, tame monsters as pets and much more this time around, and the result is a completely enjoyable experience and a game well worth trying out as a free-to-play game, especially for fans of the MMORPG scene.

Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second takes players back to the world of Midgard and obviously has various ties to Norse mythology that will familiar to fans of Marvel's Thor series. For the most part, players make their own storylines in the world of Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second. This can mean taking up a profession to earn more income that can be used to purchase special wares, and players will obviously want to explore the world of Midgard to explore all of the various cities throughout the game and head out into the wild to battle some powerful monsters and gather natural supplies. There are many missions that can be obtained from different people in areas scattered throughout the game. There is always something to do in the world of Midgard that makes Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second a really fun game to play alone or online with friends and other players.

Booting up the game for the first time will require the player to create a customizable character. Each character will come with a class and a job that will benefit the player in the battlefield and with earning extra cash and creating new items respectively. Each class in the game has two unique branches to earn new skills and different powers by leveling the character such as the Assassin and Rogue branches for the Thief class. There is also the typical leveling system that rewards players with skill points for gaining enough experience points through battling, completing missions and other tasks throughout the game that are then transferred to the character to make them more proficient in a single area of combat or in their job. Once a player has attained a high enough level, the player can begin crafting new items based around their job and open a shop to sell their wares and earn some extra cash. To make this even cooler, Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second features a special system known as Dual-Life that allows the player to set up shop and earn cash even after logging off of the game, and sales will be waiting for the player the next time they login to the game. One other cool feature that any new player will spot after loading up the game is the Pet system that allows players with the right skills to tame monsters found in the field that grant special abilities to a player.

Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second is a free-to-play title, but the game does feature real life currency transactions that can be used to purchase in-game mounts, experience points and other items. The game does feature both the ordinary mission and storyline setup, but players can also choose to enter into PvP for a greater challenge. Unique challenges wait for the player once a character has become strong enough to tackle these tasks as well, and some really great prizes can be earned when completing the right amount of these challenges.

The card system has returned for Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second from the original Ragnarök Online. Fans of the series will remember how this works, but it has been updated for the new release to include better balance among cards, specifically in relation to the different rarities of a card: bronze, silver, gold. A character can only equip up to five cards at once, but cards can be combined to make a single card even more powerful and effective, and with hundreds of cards available in the game, it adds just another unique element to each character and a highly addictive way to strengthen the character.

Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second is a fun game and is free-to-play, and you shouldn't need to know much more than that to give it a try. The colorful world of Midgard is a blast to explore with cute, anime inspired characters and cel-shaded graphics that combine with nice sound design and a cheerful soundtrack to help put a smile on your face while playing. Plenty of addictive elements further the great gameplay experience to make this a game that could have a lot of replay value for fans of the MMORPG genre. If you've got some extra time on your hands and are looking to invest it in a great role-playing experience, check out Ragnarök 2: Legend of the Second for PC on Steam today!

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake. Even if you’re new in town, you’ll feel like family after your first cup of coffee. The menu is straight out of a Southern comfort cookbook. The catfish plates are fried to crispy perfection, the hamburger steaks come smothered in gravy that tastes like Sunday supper, and the breakfast plates are legendary—big fluffy pancakes, biscuits as big as your hand, and hash browns that come golden and crispy.
