From the Press Release
Indie game development studio THREAKS, in conjunction with Reverb Publishing, announced today that its mystical underwater action-adventure, Beatbuddy, has been officially renamed to Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians and is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 8, 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux.

“Beatbuddy has a compelling cast of characters and we are thrilled to announce the new name and global release date,” said Wolf Lang, CEO and Co-Founder of THREAKS. “With talent involved like Rhianna Pratchett, who is refining the game’s already charming storyline, paired with the music of artists such as Austin Wintory, the game has evolved into a true work of art.”

Winner of ‘Best Art’ and ‘Best Sound’ in Intel’s 2012 Level Up Game Demo Contest, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians tells a story of an ethereal, blue creature who is awoken from his eternal slumber in order to save the world of Symphonia from losing music forever to Prince Maestro. Beatbuddy’s quest takes him to a series of worlds where he encounters vibrant characters, such as Harmony, Clef, Trebble, and Quaver, who aid him as he opens paths and solve puzzles on his journey. THREAKS has created a rich, interactive experience utilizing its patent-pending sound technology that syncs in-game animations with the beat, enabling players to experience music that is woven into the fabric of this action-adventure.

Developed by THREAKS and published by Reverb Publishing, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians will be available on Steam starting August 8, 2013, for $14.99.
