Grand Theft Auto V Receives First Official Gameplay Trailer from Rockstar

Developer Rockstar North has unveiled the first official gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5. The new trailer takes a look at some of the many activities players will be allowed to do with each of the game's three protagonists: Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Each of the characters will have their own unique missions as well as some that require each member of the team to put aside their differences and work together cooperatively.

Still, every man needs some leisure time to get away from the family, the street or some inner demons and have a little fun, and Los Santos is the perfect location to do just that. Players will be able to perform many activities from prior releases in the series including bicycling, parachuting, playing sports and running from the cops. There are plenty of new activities to pursue in Los Santos this time around as well including scuba diving, purchasing property and company stock, and switching between characters at any time. The gameplay trailer also reveals some major improvements to gameplay such as destructible environments, statistical ratings for each character and a weapon wheel for quickly accessing entire player arsenals similar to switching weapons in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. Players can also look forward to Rockstar's next trailer for the game that will look at online multiplayer in Grand Theft Auto 5 coming soon. Grand Theft Auto 5 looks like an incredible game, so read on for more details and check out the game's first official gameplay trailer below!

About Grand Theft Auto V:

Amidst the turmoil, three very different criminals plot their own chances of survival and success: Franklin, a street hustler looking for real opportunities and serious money; Michael, a professional ex-con whose retirement is a lot less rosy than he hoped it would be; and Trevor, a violent maniac driven by the chance of a cheap high and the next big score. Running out of options, the crew risks everything in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life.

The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game’s three lead characters, playing all sides of the game’s interwoven story.

All the classic hallmarks of the groundbreaking series return, including incredible attention to detail and Grand Theft Auto’s darkly humorous take on modern culture, alongside a brand new and ambitious approach to open world multiplayer.

Grand Theft Auto V is now available for preorder from most major retailers for the MSRP of $59.99 and is scheduled to release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. Grand Theft Auto V is not yet rated. For more information on the game, check out the official Grand Theft Auto V website.
