Forever 16 Airs On Lifetime On August 23

Lifetime will air the movie Forever 16 on Friday August 23 at 8PM, and fans can watch it again on Saturday August 24 at 12 AM and 2 PM.

Raven Highgate is a 16-year-old teenager of incomparable beauty, intelligence, and physical prowess. She can have any boy she wants. But will not commit. Belong to any popular high school clique. But she doesn’t bother. Raven moves from high school to high school, like a gunslinger with a shady past. Never making a lasting friendship.

Raven is cool. She rides a Kawasaki. And her musical tastes are vast: ranging from classical jazz, to rock n roll, from punk to hip hop. She works in a vinyl record store. You would think that with her “retro style” Raven would fit right into the hipster scene, say from Portland. But she doesn’t. Raven is a loner.

It is not the sort of loneliness that comes from being a teenager—an ugly duckling. For high school boys will invariably fall madly in love with her. And accordingly, her female classmates will totally despise her. But no one will bully her, or they will get their asses kicked! No Raven’s loneliness comes from something entirely different – not from teenage angst – but from being a vampire!

One day Raven’s pattern of living in the shadows is put to good use when she accepts a cop’s offer of going undercover to catch a murderer. Mack is the cop who makes her an offer that “she can’t refuse”. Mack is also a woman living in a shadowy past. She gets the “dark side of life” only too well!

This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
