Heapsylon, a Washington-based start-up, that has launched Sensoria Fitness, the first e-textile pressure sensing smart sock tracker for runners and fitness enthusiasts, has integrated its technology with Bluetooth UAV’s and gaming consoles. "The idea behind Sensoria Gaming is that we can interface with both physical games and video games" says Mario Esposito, Heapsylon's CTO," In the physical world we interface automatically with robots, toys, remote controlled vehicles and whatever else is already Bluetooth enabled. We also have capabilities to control RF driven devices such as, cars, helicopters, you much more. As an example think about flying your favorite remote controlled airplane or simulator using rudder input with our Sensoria socks."
In the video game world, as long as the console supports an USB device attachment, Sensoria provides an extension that uses the standard HID. Without drivers to install, the Sensoria electronic anklet will send the appropriate commands (left, right, up, down, fire...) and developers can now enable games to use the sock as a companion controller device or as the only remote unit.
