Sixense, a global leader in motion tracking hardware and software, today announced that it is teaming up with Virtuix to showcase an early prototype of Sixense's upcoming motion tracking platform, the STEM System, at PAX Prime 2013, the massive video game convention in Seattle during Labor Day Weekend. The STEM System demos will be available to experience for show attendees.
WHEN
August 30, 2013 - September 2, 2013
10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
WHERE
PAX Prime 2013
Virtuix Booth (#6210), Zone 2, Level 6,
Washington State Convention Center, Seattle
The STEM System platform is a wireless, modular motion tracking platform for video games and virtual reality (VR). The platform enables players to naturally and intuitively interact with games bytracking full position and orientation at all times for an uninterrupted and consistent player experience. Supporting up to five motion tracking modules for full-body tracking, the STEM System works with VR hardware such as Oculus Rift and the Virtuix Omni to provide a more immersive experience for gamers.
"The STEM System and the Virtuix Omni are vital components of the new virtual reality movement within the video game industry," said Amir Rubin, co-founder of Sixense. "The STEM System will allow you to enter the game while using the Omni, whether you want to track your body, controllers, or other peripherals. Our goal is to continue forging bonds with innovative companies like Virtuix to help establish a complete VR ecosystem."
"The STEM System creates new possibilities for full motion control in VR," said Jan Goetgeluk, CEO and founder of Virtuix. "Not just walking, as we provide, but hand motions and independent gun tracking. We are really excited about this great technology."
