Team17 has announced that Worms Clan Wars will release on August 15th for PC. Fans will get tons of new features which includes clan support, ability to accumulate community points and much more.
From the Press Release
Worms Clan Wars is a title we’re all very excited for and proud of here at Team17. For the first time in Worms we’re introducing clan support, players can create their own or join another and take part in league matches. All of which accumulates them community points, which in turn allows their clan to level up and grow larger. A particularly cool thing is that fact that if we were in a clan together, we could for the first time, play controlling the same team! I’d take control of two of the worms, and so would you. It’s a really nice, new community driven feature. To support the clan element we’re going to be releasing an mobile companion app and web portal where you’ll be able to check how your clan is doing while on the move and if you’re the clan leader you can send out calls to action to your clan mates telling them when you need them online to play! There’s a host of other cool features such as Steam Workshop integration, improved Single Player campaign narrated by Katherine Parkinson (best known for playing Jen in the IT Crowd), new Worm Ops, new weapons etc.
