Ronimo Games has announced that Awesomenauts is free-to-play for this entire week on Steam! Players can also download many of the skins for 50% off until next Monday. New details have been revealed for the game's Kickstarter as well which will add a new playable map and support for customizable matches.
From the Press Release
Free to play - This entire week, Awesomenauts will be playable for free on Steam! Just log onto Steam, download the game, start fraggin'. It's that simple! At the same time, players can get Awesomenauts at a 66% discount and most of the skins at 50% off. The game will be available for free until Sunday afternoon, and the discounts will last until Monday. We really hope this will bring more people into the game, and show to those who might have tried it out in the past that we've come a very, very long way since we launched in August 2012.
Kickstarter - We're entering the fourth week of our Kickstarter today, and are very close to reaching the $230,000 mark. No goal set at that point, but we're pretty proud nonetheless. We already promised to develop a new playable map when we reached the $200,000 mark. Our next big stretchgoal is set at $270,000, and we'll be making an extra push in the coming 9 days to try and reach that. Once we get there, we'll add support for customizable matches so if you ever wanted to play with 6 players on the same team vs. a team of AI-controlled Clunks, then this is the stretchgoal for you. We'll be releasing more information on all the different features that are part of the customizable games later this week!
Kickstarter-exclusive announcer revealed - As part of the rewards included in the Bronze tier and up (all backers $50 and above) we promised access to an exclusive announcer. We're now ready to reveal that Voltar the Omniscient will be picking up the mic to lend his sweet, singsong voice to this task! This set of announcer samples will be exclusively available to backers of our campaign. If we reach $250,000 before the end of our campaign, we'll also be adding an extra announcer for these backers. This one will be voiced by Gnaw, so that backers can choose which of these 'Nauts they want to hear make all the announcements in the game. Of course, they can toggle between these or stick with the current announcer. Whatever floats your goat.
