Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Welcomes Lightning to Eorzea

Square Enix has announced the release of a brand new video for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In the new video we see our heroine Lightning from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII as she descends into the realm of Eorzea. Lightning will make her into the game's FATE battles where players can fight alongside her. Read on to learn more.

SQUARE ENIX today released a new video for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn in which Lightning, the heroine of LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII descends upon the realm of Eorzea. She appears in one of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Full Active Time Events (FATE), a periodic battle that will allow players to fight alongside Lightning. Upon completing this event successfully, players can receive gear and weaponry modeled after those found in LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII.

Also part of this cross-title collaboration, SQUARE ENIX released new Miqo’te costume screenshots for LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII. Clues for acquiring this costume are hidden within the world of Nova Chrysalia. Players will also be able to acquire weapons and shield themed from the city states of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn (Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah, Gridania) by clearing side quests.

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is now available for $39.99 on the PlayStation 3 system and $29.99 for Windows PC. A free 30-day trial is included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99. LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems and for digital download on the PlayStation Network for $59.99 on February 11, 2014.
