New Gameplay Trailer Arrives for Fates Forever by Hammer & Chisel
Hammer & Chisel has announced that a brand new gameplay trailer is now available for Fates Forever. The game is in development for tablets and is a reinterpretation of the popular game League of Legends. The real-time strategy game will offer deep gameplay while taking advantage of all of the unique characteristics of touch screens.
From the Press Release
Jason Citron, founder of OpenFeint, is today world premiering the gameplay trailer for his tablet-only hardcore game, Fates Forever. Created by Citron’s new company, Hammer & Chisel, Fates Forever is a reinterpretation of the world’s most popular hardcore game, League of Legends, for tablets.
Fates Forever is addressing a new issue in gaming. Research firm Gartner has estimated that Tablet sales are likely to eclipse PCs by 2015. Although tablets are becoming a pervasive gaming medium, Citron feels the gaming content hasn't caught up to the needs of core gamers. Fates Forever is solving this by building a deep, real-time game that takes advantage of the unique characteristics of touch screens to push the limits of what’s possible on a tablet. Game characters are controlled through touch gestures like swiping and flicking instead of a mouse and keyboard.
Hammer & Chisel was first announced last July when it closed $1.1 million in funding from top Silicon Valley investors including Studio 9+, Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners, and IDG Ventures. For the past year Citron and team have been building Fates Forever from scratch. The game is expected to launch in 2013 on iPad and sometime shortly after on Android tablets.
