HBO has announced an all new comedy series set to debut later this month called Hello Ladies. The show will star actor Stephen Merchant as a nerdy 6'7" English transplant looking for romance in his new home of Los Angeles where he works as a web designer. Merchant's character is desperate to be included in the world of the beautiful people of Los Angeles and will do whatever it takes to join the super elite status.
Hello Ladies will debut on HBO beginning Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 10:30PM ET/PT, directly after the season debut of Eastbound & Down. English transplant Stuart Pritchard is a web designer who owns a house. Jessica, his attractive tenant, is a struggling actress and aspiring web series writer-director. After learning that Courtney (Sarah Wright), a pretty ingénue who is rehearsing with Jessica, will be going to the opening of a posh nightclub, he manages to get on the guest list.

In addition to “Extras,” for which he was an executive producer, director, writer and actor, Stephen Merchant’s previous HBO credits include the series “Life’s Too Short” (executive producer, director, writer, actor) and “The Ricky Gervais Show” (executive producer, voice). Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg’s credits as a team include writing and executive producing “Bad Teacher” and writing and co-executive producing the American version of “The Office,” for which they were nominated for four Emmys.
