Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt Starting October 11

2K and Gearbox Software have announced a Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt in celebration of the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition on October 8. Starting on October 11, players can join in a four week sweepstakes where they can grad loot in-and-out of game worth over $100,000. Read on to learn more.

2K and Gearbox Software are continuing to celebrate the immense success of Borderlands® 2 with today's announcement of the Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt. Whether you're already a grizzled vault hunter, or are planning to buy the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition on October 8, 2013, fame, fortune, and loot - both in-and-out-of game - are up for grabs when this four-week sweepstakes begins on October 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.


"More than a year after the launch of Borderlands 2, hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide continue to shoot-and-loot on Pandora. We wanted to find a creative and exciting way to thank them, and the millions of Borderlands fans that make this franchise what it is," said Sarah Anderson, senior vice president of marketing at 2K. "We're giving away $100,000 in cash and a slew of other great prizes throughout a massive in-game fan appreciation event that's also accessible to new players who purchase the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition."

Money isn't all that's at stake. Thanks to the generosity of PlayStation®, Nvidia, Turtle Beach and BradyGames, Borderlands 2 loot hunters will have the chance to win outstanding real-life prizes, including:
  • PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment systems with copies of Borderlands 2 Vita once released;

"Claptrap serves as the master of ceremonies for this grand Loot Hunt, but each week a new friendly face from Borderlands 2 will dish out daily targets that loot hunters can take down to enter themselves into the sweepstakes," said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. "As a diehard vault hunter, I am most excited for the bounty associated with each target - unique pieces of in-game loot that will drop one hundred percent of the time."

Ambitious loot hunters can enter the sweepstakes simply by taking down the daily targets once a day for a total of 28 entries. In addition to the many weekly sponsored prizes, one lucky loot hunter will win a grand prize of $50,000, and four others will win varying amounts of cash totaling another $50,000. Only U.S. players are eligible for cash prizes and sponsored prizes. However, all players worldwide can participate in the Loot Hunt, and the exclusive community goals granting access to unique in-game loot. Alternatively, U.S. residents may enter the sweepstakes by mailing a postcard to 2K, Borderlands 2 Loot Hunt Sweepstakes, 10 Hamilton Landing, Novato, CA 94949.

The Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt ends at 5:00 a.m. EST on November 7, 2013. Joining the hunt is simple, go to borderlands2loothunt.com, and log-in using your SHiFT account information.
