Diary of a Wimpy Kid's Zachary Gordon Hosting New Skylanders Boomcast

Activision has announced the new Skylanders Boomcast to get fans ready for the upcoming Skylanders SWAP Force release. Diary of a Wimpy Kid actor Zachary Gordon will host the series with the latest Skylanders franchise news, gameplay tips, exclusive interviews with the game's development team and much more. Read on.

Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI) today announced Skylanders Boomcast — a series of online webisodes for the best-selling kids game of the year2 — which debuts Friday, "SWAPtober" 4 on the Skylanders YouTube channel. Offering a weekly glimpse into the magical world of Skylands, Skylanders Boomcast will be hosted by actor Zachary Gordon (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) as he brings fans the latest Skylanders franchise news, gameplay tips and tricks, fan art, character spotlights, exclusive interviews with the Skylanders team and more, straight from the source.


"Our young fans have a tremendous appetite for all things Skylanders. Skylanders Boomcast is an innovative way to turn marketing content into entertainment content," said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. "This will be the destination where our fans can dive deeper into the world of Skylanders than ever before."

The show's launch kicks-off SWAPtober, a month of activities celebrating the newest Skylanders game — Skylanders SWAP Force™, which will hit stores on October 13 in North America, October 16 in Australia and October 18 in Europe.

Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun.
