Holiday 2013 Music Buying Guide

Music is everywhere we go and part of our everyday life. With the holidays coming up, it pays to be on top of the best music coming out over the next couple of months, so you can pick out the best albums for yourself and as gifts for friends and family. Of course, everyone has a different taste in music, but we've tried to compile a list that includes a wide range of popular music that gamers would enjoy while kicking back and enjoying their new console next month. Here is our list of the best new albums to buy for the 2013 holidays!

Eminem - Marshal Mathers LP 2
Berzerk is Eminem's first single from his upcoming album Marshal Mathers LP 2 that arrives in November. The track is a great one that is currently one of the best-selling singles in the world, and it reached the top three of the Billboard Top 100 and remained in the Top 10 for several weeks before the new album has been fully revealed. Eminem has one the best track records for producing shocking and highly entertaining albums that disappoint and make music well worth buying, and the quick preview we received for the album earlier this month confirms that idea. Rap fans will want to make sure to pick up Marshal Mathers LP 2 when it arrives this November.

Metallica - Through the Never
Metallica's new film Through the Never features live performances from the all-time great rock band during a recent tour and features great behind-the-scenes footage of the band and fans preparing for concerts around the world. The Through the Never soundtrack is the perfect companion for the film and fans of the rock legends, as it features 16 live performances of the band's greatest hits. Songs on the album include Enter Sandman, Ride the Lightning, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Battery, One and more. Each performance is expertly captured and sounds great on disc and in mp3 form and makes the perfect soundtrack for rocking out while playing your favorite first-person shooter or fighting game.

Katy Perry - Prism
Katy Perry has quickly grown into one of the most well known pop singers around, and her new album Prism proves the ever growing popularity of the icon won't be slowing down anytime soon. Perry's new single, Roar, can be heard on nearly any radio station in the country, and the song has been featured prominently in the Billboard Top 100 for several weeks since it was recently released. Katy Perry has managed to become one of the most beloved artists of her time with hard work, style and grace rather than drama and using the any publicity is good publicity tactic, and parents can safely pick up Prism for their daughter or themselves and have some great music to listen to this holiday season.

Bruno Mars - Unorthodox Jukebox
Bruno Mars burst onto the scene back in 2010 with his first solo album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The album featured fantastic singles such as The Lazy Song, Grenade and Just the Way You Are, and the artist's popularity has only grown from there. It was recently announced that Bruno Mars would be performing live at halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014, and fans will want to be well versed in the songs that will be featured during the performance from Mars' new album, Unorthodox Jukebox. The album will only feature 10 new songs, but if his new work is as good as the last, you can be sure there will be more than enough classics on the new album to make it worth picking up before the end of the year.

Duck Dynasty - Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas
Duck Dynasty has quickly become one of the most popular shows on television that follows the Robertson family as they work in their highly successful duck call business while exploring everyday life with their family in the south. It wouldn't be a holiday music list without some good Christmas music, and while Duck the Halls likely won't feature any songs that will tear up the records charts like previous entries on the list, there is sure to be some good laughs on the album for fans of the show or for folks just looking to get in the Christmas spirit.
