From the Press Release
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that Major League Baseball player, David Ortiz, is the official spokesperson for its recently released, free-to-play, social mobile game MLB Live Challenge. Now available on Facebook and available for download on the App Store for iPad, MLB Live Challenge combines official Major League Baseball statistics with casual gameplay creating a deeply immersive sports experience throughout the baseball season.

"This game is 10x more fun than fantasy baseball. With real-time player stats, player profiles and cool animations, this game takes all the things baseball fans love and puts them on Facebook and iPads," said David Ortiz. "MLB Live Challenge is a great way to get your baseball fix with friends between games all season."

Affectionately known to his fans as "Big Papi," David Ortiz has been one of the most feared hitters in Major League Baseball over the past decade. Ortiz was signed by the Red Sox in 2003, where he has been a staple in the heart of the lineup, playing both first base and designated hitter. In 2004, Ortiz led the Red Sox to their first World Series Championship in 86 years, which was followed up with a second championship in 2007. He is a nine-time All-Star and holds numerous Red Sox and MLB records including the Red Sox single season home run record and the MLB record for RBIs by a Designated Hitter.

In MLB Live Challenge, players assume the role of team owner and build a lineup of current Major League Baseball players. After choosing their rosters, they can play head-to-head against other teams across a map of North America. Like in real baseball, the best team owners will pay attention to players' gameday performances; in MLB Live Challenge, game players' lineups perform better when their batters and pitchers are succeeding in real-life Major League games. Players can check in daily to see how their rosters performed in the real baseball games the day before. Confident users can also allocate Challenge Points in anticipation of the next day's results, enhancing their direct in-game experiences.

MLB Live Challenge is available now for iPad or on Facebook. To download the game for free please visit the  iTunes App Store  or Facebook.
