Film director and musician Rob Zombie is well known for his intense rock performances as well as his work on film behind the camera, but he's also an animal lover, and he has announced he will be auctioning off his 1967 Ford F-100 truck to help support The Puppy Rescue Mission at an upcoming event. The auction will begin on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 8PM PST and will run through Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 8PM PST. The auction will happen online over eBay, so everyone is welcome to join in during the online event and place their bids.
The Puppy Rescue Mission allows dogs and cats to be shipped from warzones in Afghanistan to live out long, healthy life in the United States. The charity is also constantly working to reunite dogs used in the military missions in Afghanistan with some of the soldiers that served with them over seas. Read on for more details on this important cause.
PRM enables dogs (and cats) from Afghanistan and other warzones to live out their lives in the US with the soldiers they befriend. “It was probably the only moment of sanity for these guys, when they spent time with them [the dogs],” explains Rob. “Some of the stories I’ve heard are horrible: people would torture these dogs, and kill them for fun. These guys saved these dogs, and really bonded with them.” Soldiers need only write a letter to PRM, and the community joins together and raises the funds to help get their furry friends home.
