British firm Appleberry has taken inspiration for its new range of scarves - which are available in the color scheme of all European football clubs - from the scarves adopted by university and college football clubs.
The premium quality scarves are made from 100% Saxony wool and are designed and manufactured in the UK. According to Tony Core from Appleberry, the aim of the new range is to bring a touch of stylish luxury to a market which is more typically associated with imported, acrylic merchandise emblazoned with team logos.

The origin of the college scarf dates back to the late 1930s when elegant, vertically-striped scarves were produced for the colleges and sports clubs at Cambridge University. It wasn't long before the trend had spread to other British universities.
