From the Press Release
Game Developers Conference Next (GDC Next) and the co-located App Developers Conference (ADC), today announced a partnership with DoubleDutch, the leading event application provider, to power the conferences’ mobile application. GDC Next and ADC are taking place November 5 through 7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and the events mark the twenty-second application DoubleDutch has developed with organizer UBM Tech. Other events powered by DoubleDutch include industry-defining shows like Interop, Black Hat, Enterprise Connect, DesignCon, and Online Marketing Summit.

GDC Next and ADC attendees can access the latest schedule, create a personalized agenda, network with other attendees, and compete for the top leaderboard spot by downloading the event application today: ddut.ch/gdcnext

“We believe that event applications are a must-have at conferences and tradeshows no matter how big or small,” said Alex Dunne, General Manager, Online of UBM Tech. “Organizing a conference for developers themselves, we also knew we’d be judged by the quality of our own event app, and DoubleDutch’s combination of price and features made their platform the right choice for us. DoubleDutch knows how to build an app that attendees will engage with, and they have a great customer service team that has kept us coming back for more than twenty conferences.”

GDC Next will address the future of the gaming industry, giving attendees a glimpse at the game experiences of tomorrow through a variety of sessions presented by leading industry experts. The App Developers Conference (ADC) also a brand-new event, centers on the very best development, UI, marketing and business strategies for apps outside of games. Downloading the combined application, event attendees can browse sessions in real time, rate speakers and network with fellow attendees. They can also post comments and photos in the event-focused newsfeed and easily push these out to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. All in-app activity will win attendees points in the competition for badges and the top leaderboard spot. These game mechanics are unique to the DoubleDutch platform and result in much higher engagement rates than typical mobile conference applications. “GDC Next and ADC will define how game makers and mobile-focused companies should develop, market and monetize applications,” said Lawrence Coburn, CEO and co-founder of DoubleDutch. “We’re expecting great engagement from this group, and we look forward to a continued partnership with UBM Tech.”
