Midnight City's Videoball and Blood of the Werewolf Appearing At This Year's The MIX

Midnight City has announced that Videoball and Blood of the Werewolf will be unveiled at the Media Indie Exchange. There are a ton of great indie titles showing at the MIX that includes Broken Age (Double Fine Games), Super Time Force (Capy Games), Hyper Light Drifter (Heart Machine Games) and Gunsport (Necrosoft Games).

From the Press Release
Midnight City, the recently founded indie label of Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of games for the mass market, will show it’s anticipated competitive eSports title, VIDEOBALL and just-released action platformer Blood of the Werewolf, at the ‘Media Indie Exchange’ (the MIX). Literally elevating indies to new heights, the event will be hosted at the palatial TENTEN WILSHIRE rooftop on November 5, smack-dab in the middle of GDC Next. Midnight City’s games will appear alongside acclaimed indie titles like Broken Age (Double Fine Games), Super Time Force (Capy Games), Hyper Light Drifter (Heart Machine Games) and Gunsport (Necrosoft Games).

VIDEOBALL is an electronic sport game that features the best of basketball, soccer, football, old-fashioned shooters, first-person shooters, and real-time strategy games - and it's all on one screen, for easy spectating. Pick up and play controls test your mettle with just one analog stick and one button – sounds easy, right? WRONG. Strategy, tactics and the burning passion to win drive VIDEOBALL athletes to new heights and all-time lows. Choose from dozens of unique fields for one-on-one, two-on-two, or three-on-three local or online multiplayer competition if you’ve got the BALLS! No friends? No problem! Check out the singleplayer or co-op challenge mode, full of practice arenas meant to turn you into a world champion. If we were sleazes and we were pitching this to Silicon Valley venture capitalists, we'd say "it's Call of Duty meets Madden meets Wii Sports meets Angry Birds meets NBA Jam meets Bangai-O," and they'd ask us, "What's Bangai-O?"

Blood of the Werewolf harkens back to classic platformers that dished out brutal challenges to players on a regular basis. Push yourself to your limits of persistence and stamina as you slash, shoot and bite your way through fifteen intensifying levels of carnage. The story of Blood of the Werewolf centers on Selena, a loving wife, mother and one of the last living werewolves. Her husband murdered, her child kidnapped, Selena sets out with nothing more than a crossbow and a thirst for vengeance. Take on five intense boss battle arenas as she seeks out her son, held captive by the same man who slaughtered her husband. Experience dynamic gameplay using Selena’s crossbow to thwart enemies from a distance, while bringing the fight up close and personal in werewolf form – instantly transforming by the light of a full moon. Hidden power-ups and bonuses upgrade your weapons and abilities. In addition, the game features integrated Steam leaderboards, achievements and trading cards if you dare to collect them all!

The list of games showing at The Mix includes:

  • Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes from NICALiS
