From the Press Release
Wargaming, the award-winning videogame developer and publisher, today announced the open beta weekend for World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. The one-time event, scheduled for December 13–15, will run globally and mark the last testing phase prior to the title’s release. The beta will be available to all gamers with Xbox Live accounts, while those without it will be able to get in on the action for a 7-day trial period. As an added bonus to non-Gold account holders who may have already expended their 7-day trial period, the trial will reset, giving gamers an additional 7 days of playing time.

Further rewards will also be available to new and returning players for a limited time during the beta. All players who log in and play at least 10 matches on Saturday, December 14th from 3–6 p. m. (Pacific Standard Time) will receive 7 days of free Premium Account status (which provides a higher accrual rate of credits and experience earned during play) once the game officially goes live. More details regarding redemption of the Premium Account status will be provided at a later date. Players will also be able to take advantage of the “Invite a Friend” functionality via the game’s Platoons feature. Lastly, the game will be further updated with the brand-new United Kingdom tank line, adding to the game some of the most iconic vehicles from that nation including the Churchill, the Black Prince and the Matilda.

The playoffs of the NVIDIA® GeForce® eSports World of Tanks Veteran’s Day 1-Million Gold Charity Division, a North American 3-tank Amateur tournament, culminated in late November with a 1 million in-game gold prize pool and a $10,000 donation by NVIDIA and Wargaming.net to AMVETS National Service Foundation.

With over 280 teams and over 800 players, the competition was fierce as 3-player teams participated in a Tier 4 competition with 1 million in Wargaming gold at stake amongst the top 128 placing teams. Gameplay began in early October with a seven round group play stage and finished with a thrilling 16 team single-elimination playoff bracket in late November. “River of Blood” took first place honors along with 300,000 in Wargaming gold following an intense best-of-three series against “Whatever” with “River of Blood” championing two games to one.
