Kickstarter For Bad Roomies Has Raised Over $65,000 In Funding With Three Days Remaining

The Kickstarter for Bad Roomies currently has three days remaining for its campaign and has raised $65,000 as of today. Filming for the film is set to commence in Spring and any additional funds gained will help the team reach several of the stretch goals laid out by the production team. Read on.

From the Press Release
Earlier this month, Patrick Renna (The Sandlot, The Big Green) and Jason Schnell (Reckless Tortuga) announced that they would be partnering up with Tommy Savas (The Sopranos, The Last Ship) and screenwriter/director Justin Mooney to produce an original feature-length film, currently titled "Bad Roomies".

Having obtained partial funding by private backers, the production unit took its fundraising efforts public with the announcement of a Kickstarter campaign a little more than three weeks ago.

The crowdfunding campaign, which will come to a close as of 2 p.m. this Sunday, has garnered support from a wide and diverse fan base, having raised a total of $65,000 as of today. With still three days remaining, the Kickstarter campaign is poised to surpass its preset funding goal of $75,000 and may well go on to hit one of several stretch goals laid out by the production team. While the primary funding goal will be enough to consider the film funded, any additional funds will go towards a wish list of additional budget items, as laid-out on the filmmakers' Kickstarter page.

Considering the fact that less than 40 percent of film-and-video related Kickstarter projects ever achieve their funding goals, the campaign looks to be a success by any measure. Should the team prove successful in hitting its first stretch goal of $100,000, theirs will be one of 150 Kickstarter campaigns to ever hit the mark in the film and video category, according to Kickstarter's own daily updated statistics.

The production team is currently casting for the project with filming slated to commence in the spring.

About the Film

Bad Roomies, a film penned by Justin Mooney and described by its creators as a modern comedy with dark undertones, tells the story of two roommates, played by the comically inclined Renna & Savas, who decide, for reasons less than pure, to introduce a female roommate into their lives. The ensuing saga of mayhem and mischance is best told on screen, where the team of filmmakers is confident audiences will find it worth the watch. While the project marks the production team's debut feature-length film as a unit, its core creators boast a combined filmography of more than 400-total credits for work in front of and behind the camera.
