Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Now Available

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (read review) is now available for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The new release will give fans of the series a remastered version of the game in high-definition. Are you ready for the adventure? Read on.

Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced that its critically-acclaimed RPG, FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster is now available in North America for the PlayStation 3 system and PlayStation Vita systems. Completely remastered in high-definition, the compilation brings two fan-favorite, timeless classics – FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 for new and old fans.

Considered a ground-breaking milestone for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, FINAL FANTASY X was the first in the series to incorporate voice acting and full 3D graphics. In the remastered version, the artwork has been beautifully reworked and redrawn, and new character voices are included as part of the new 30-minute audio drama that will be played during the ending credits.

The game features brand-new content for the North American market and will provide players with an entirely new way to experience the world of Spira. Players will be able to watch the Eternal Calm, a short film following Yuna after the events of FINAL FANTASY X. Additionally, Last Mission, the storyline-based mission following Yuna, Rikku and Paine in their exploration of the Iutycyr Tower ruins will make its North American debut.

FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster is a single disc bundle available for the PlayStation 3 system. The collector’s edition for the PlayStation 3 system will be sold exclusively at the Square Enix Online Store for $79.99. Available as a 2-in-1 retail pack, the PlayStation Vita system version of the game includes FINAL FANTASY X HD Remaster on the game card and FINAL FANTASY X-2 HD Remaster as a downloadable PlayStation Network voucher*. Both titles will support cross-save functionality with the PlayStation 3 system and are available today for $39.99.
