From the Press Release
Five-person development team Grimm Bros today announced the beginning of the Kickstarter campaign for its debut title, Dragon Fin Soup. A charming hybrid tactical action RPG with roguelike elements, Dragon Fin Soup is set in a world inspired by fairytales and classic console RPG’s. Dragon Fin Soup has been in development for over a year, and is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Playstation Vita in 2014. The 30 day Kickstarter campaign begins today, with the team at Grimm Bros looking to raise a minimum of $24,000 to help make Dragon Fin Soup a reality and add additional polish, features and content. Supporters of the project can get involved by pledging as little as $5 at Dragon Fin Soup Kickstarter.

“Dragon Fin Soup is our debut title, and we’ve been pouring our hearts and souls into crafting a fantastic game experience,” said Grimm Bros CEO Ash Monif. “As an indie studio comprised of veteran developers, we see Kickstarter as a great platform to connect with gamers and make Dragon Fin Soup a phenomenal experience. We’re indie because we really want to make the kind of games we would personally enjoy playing and don’t want to compromise our vision to outside influences. Dragon Fin Soup reflects that in every way.”

Dragon Fin Soup is a hybrid experience that combines turn-based dungeon crawl exploration with classic console RPG style storytelling. Launching the proceedings with Red Robin, the reimagined version of the classic Red Riding Hood character. A cheerful yet raging alcoholic, Robin, makes a living as a sword-for-hire and bounty hunter in a remote country village. A year has passed since Robin lost her memory, but the bloody past slowly catches up with her, as she discovers a world of murder, conspiracies and magic.

Kickstarter rewards for backers include limited edition music boxes, art books, plushies, t-shirts, posters, engraved crystals and hand-drawn illustrations, along with a number of stretch goals for the campaign. The Kickstarter campaign gives gamers the opportunity to determine the scope and scale of Dragon Fin Soup, directly influencing the shape of the game and participating during its development. Pledges beyond the funding goal of $24,000 will kick off new stretch goals to expand the core game by adding exciting new content and gameplay features.
