Neon Genesis Evangelion Makes Its Way To Puzzle & Dragons

The worlds of Puzzle & Dragons and Evangelion have collided adding a ton of new content for players. Gamers will now be able to enjoy an Evangelion-themed dungeon, special EVA-01 shaped egg gun and much more. Read on to learn more.

Mobile gaming phenomenon Puzzle & Dragons has added another exciting partnership to its roster of unique crossovers. Today, anime fans everywhere can now enjoy Neon Genesis Evangelion content in Puzzle & Dragons, as GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc has partnered with the popular film series, "Rebuild of Evangelion." Collaborations are part of GungHo's strategy to add new content to the game's addictive combination of puzzle, dungeon-crawling, and monster-collecting gameplay. Puzzle & Dragons continues to see tremendous growth and has surpassed 29 million downloads worldwide.

The Puzzle & Dragons and Evangelion collaboration includes:

  • EVANGELION-THEMED DUNGEON: Players will face off against nine mysterious Angels.
  • SPECIAL EVA-01 SHAPED RARE EGG MACHINE: Now live in-game, special egg drops include popular Evangelion characters: Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Mari and Kaworu (depicted alongside the EVA units they pilot) and Misato (with the AAA Wunder flying battleship).
  • AWOKEN SKILLS & ULTIMATE EVOLUTIONS: Evolved monsters benefit from Awoken Skills, and Ultimate Evolutions are also provided for certain collaboration characters.

Neon Genesis Evangelion became an instant pop culture phenomenon with the release of the original animated TV series in 1995, with the project soon branching out into comics, films, videogames, and other media. The Rebuild of Evangelion film series launched in 2007, with three installments released to-date. Released last autumn, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo attracted 3.8 million viewers and more than 5.2 billion in box office revenue. The excitement surrounding the Rebuild of Evangelion films continues to build with the approach of the next installment, the series climax.
