Noah: Ila's Story (Book Review)
Titan Books recently announced two new books based on the major motion picture film Noah. Noah: The Official Movie Novelization follows closely to the storyline of the film, while the second book, Noah: Ila's Story, tells the story from the perspective of the character Ila, as portrayed by Emma Watson.
As we noted in our review for Noah: The Official Movie Novelization, Ila is one of the most interesting characters in the film and novel, and Noah: Ila's Story allows fans to read the same storyline but from the eyes of Ila. The book is likely intended for a young girl audience, as it features less serious topics and is a much shorter read at only about 100 pages, but it's still a pretty good story gives even more information on the narrative featured in Noah.
Ila is initially taken in by Noah and his family after raiders attack her home and kill her family, leaving her badly injured in the process. Ila later falls in love with one of Noah's sons before finding herself thrust into an event that would change the planet forever. Fans can instantly feel a connection with a character that has lost so much but continues fighting forward, and Emma Watson does a great job of portraying the character in the film as does author Susan Korman does of bringing the character to life in her literature. The story doesn't last too long, but junior readers will still find the story enjoyable, and older readers can do the same until it's over.
Noah: Ila's Story features a good storyline with some nice character development especially for the relationship between Ila and Shem that isn't seen in any other works. The book also features several images of the character from various scenes in the film that readers can take out to pin on their walls or just to look at to get a better sense of the story's location and characters. By comparison, Noah: Ila's Story is about 200 pages shorter and only a dollar cheaper than Noah: The Official Movie Novelization, so unless it's being purchased for a younger reader, we'd suggestion going with the full novel first, but both are good reads and worth your time if you're a fan of the film or Bible stories in general. Check out Noah: Ila's Story and Noah: The Official Movie Novelization from Titan Books today and don't miss Noah in theaters now!
Noah: Ila's Story is now available from most major retailers from Titan Books and can be purchased for $6.99. For more information on Noah: Ila's Story, check out the official Titan Books website.
