Event Wrap-up: Marble City Comicon 2014

Marble City Comicon invaded the Knoxville Convention Center the weekend of April 11-13, 2014. The convention was full of great guests, entertaining events and amazing cosplayers to cover the interests of every fan in attendance. The event featured several meet and greets, photo opportunities and other ways to interact with the great lineup of guests, and attendees could also find gaming, movies, Magic: The Gathering tournaments and other attractions to fancy their tastes during down time. There was always something new and different going on at the event, and the Knoxville Convention Center made a perfect location to meet up with old acquaintances and make some new friends as well. We're definitely hoping for a chance to return to the event next year where there should be even more great guests and fun things to do, so read on for full details in the wrap-up for Marble City Comicon for 2014!

Marble City Comicon featured a fantastic lineup of guests for 2014. Fans got a chance to meet and greet with comic legend George Perez to learn about some of the amazing work he has done over the years for both DC and Marvel and were maybe even lucky enough to snag an autograph. Other photo opportunities and meet and greets included the amazing Twisted Twins from the film American Mary and actor and former professional wrestler Kevin Nash. Fans also got a special chance to tickle their nerd fantasies by checking out a replica Speed Runner from the Star Wars film series and a replica of the 1989 Batmobile.  Gamers could also relax and play some video games in Marble City Comicon's game room in between panels and events! However, chatting with Jen and Sylvia Soska of Twisted Twin Productions, was one of the main highlights for BioGamer Girl at Marble City Comicon.

Cosplaying was also a huge part of Marble City Comicon in 2014, and BioGamer Girl was there to represent with some of the best female video game characters from recent releases. The amazing team from CONography were on hand to give fans a chance to take home professional images of their costumes, and there were plenty of special outfits on display throughout the entire event that fans on the show floor could spot just by walking around the event. Easily among the best spotted at the event were Subject Delta and a gang of Little Sisters inspired by the BioShock video game series, with Ms.BioGamer Girl 2013's own Alexis Montclaire, BewitchedRaven Cosplay and Lena Leather on top of tons of other great cosplay on display throughout the weekend.

Overall, there was little to complain about in regards to Marble City Comicon. The event was a smaller comic convention that may not have as much as big prominent events, but that also meant attendees could more easily get around the event to see all of the different vendors and guests. We were even lucky enough to meet up with some friends of BioGamer Girl including Justin Webb to check the progress with his company, Cosplay Inc., and the progress of the Mystery Machine Kickstarter. Marble City Comicon was a great show, and we can't wait for the announcement of the event for 2015. We will be in attendance at the next event; will you?
