Angry Nazi Zombies (Movie Review)

Angry Nazi Zombies is a new horror anthology film collection from Revolver Group. The first film in the series comes from director Jim Eaves and is titled Medal of Horror. This film is nearly all action and sex, as a soldier fighting desperately against unrelenting hordes of the undead reanimated from fallen soldiers during World War I. The soldier enters enemy territory after being set up by a General that wants the soldier to die for what happened to his daughter. The film presents a protagonist that is hard to root for, and the short story has some moments that stand out as some of the worst scenes in the entire collection, but Medal of Horror is probably still the best of the three films when all is said and done

The second film in the collection is Harriet's War from director Alan Ronald. The story focuses on a supernatural investigator. The paranormal expert enters a small town during the era between the two World Wars to solve a strange set of murders. The protagonist soon teams up with a local priest and another unwilling partner from the city, but by the end of the film, the star has a new friend to help in her future cases. The film is a pretty good one that focuses on unique ways to tell its story and some dark humor to keep viewers interested throughout the film.

Devils of the Blitz is the third and final film in the collection and comes from director Pat Higgins. The setting is completely different for this tale that focuses on a family attempting to hide in shelter from Nazi bombers and a flesh-eating ghoul. The last film is easily the worst of the three with much of the film taking place in a single setting. The film doesn't have enough time to establish a good relationship between viewers and the characters in the film, so it hardly matters when someone dies off in the film. The dialogue heavy movie gets rather boring quickly, and poor special effects make Devils of the Blitz a film barely worth watching.

Angry Nazi Zombies is a misleading title, since only one film features zombies as the primary monster in its film, but the collection is worth a watch for fans of series such as Masters of Horror and Tales from the Crypt. Each film features a different tale with a very different style of storytelling, and though none of the films in the collection stand out as particularly impressive works, there is sure to be at least one movie in the set that viewers will enjoy. Angry Nazi Zombies is now available exclusively on DVD and can be purchased for $19.98. Angry Nazi Zombies is not rated. For more information on the film, check out the official Angry Nazi Zombies website.
