The Bobcat Mountain Murders: A Hamilton Smith Mystery Now Available

J.R. Canfield has released his latest mystery novel, The Bobcat Mountain Murders: A Hamilton Smith Mystery, in paperback format ($12.95) and Kindle eBook ($5.99). Read on to learn more.

From the Press Release
Amateur detective Ham Smith puts his skills to the test to solve murders and save his own life as well as others in J.R. Canfield's new mystery novel.

As our national life expectancy lengthens, so too does the attraction of an 'upscale retirement community.' Unfortunately, all too often the advertised idyllic lifestyle originally portrayed falls short of expectations, as is the case in the western Colorado retreat known as Bobcat Mountain.

The Bobcat Mountain Murders centers about the relocation efforts of widower and recently retired business consultant Hamilton Smith. He selects a rental property in an upscale retirement community where things are far from what was depicted in the sales brochure. His intrigue with the seemingly serene neighborhood leaves him less than disappointed when his tight-knitted community is rocked by a series of crudely predicted and executed killings.

"It is rare when a sequel is every bit as good as the first, but such is the case with J.R. Canfield's "The Bobcat Mountain Murders" which again showcases the author's undeniable talents as a novelist," Midwest Book Review critiqued. "Solid entertainment from beginning to end, [this book] is especially recommended for mystery thriller enthusiasts and community library collections."

Playing amateur sleuth, Smith joins a newly acquired confidant, the vitriolic editor of the weekly local newspaper, searching for measures to protect the safety of the community while trying to solve the identity of the mystery "Avenger." After extensive digging, it is indeed unfortunate that his prime suspect turns out to be Allison Connor: the blue-eyed female interest he first met at the rental property's welcome reception.
