Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History (Book Review)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History is an upcoming release from Insight Editions that takes a look at the entire history of the famous comic book brothers in green from their introduction in the 1980s all the way up to the soon to be released film from director Michael Bay. The book is a good read and is packed with plenty of images captured from the comics, cartoon series, films and other content that has been a part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise over the years. For fans of the series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History is like a walk down memory lane, and there is additional bonus content included in the book such as press releases and a copy of the very first comic book for the series. This is a high quality book to be sure, and it's well worth the premium price tag to check it out when it launches later this month.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History begins with a special foreword from co-creator Peter Laird. The book is authored by Andrew Farago and includes plenty of content from the entire franchise. The book explains how Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles simply began as a joke between friends Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman before growing into one of the most popular comic book series not included in the DC or Marvel universes. The comic later grew into a popular animated series, video game franchise, film series and more. The book also delves into looks at the upcoming film from Michael Bay and includes a look at the influence of the new Nickelodeon series that continues to grow in popularity with each passing day.

Many readers favorite part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History won't actually be the book itself. The new release includes 23 different inserts that can be easily removed from the book and used elsewhere. The inserts include everything from bookmarks and business cards with information on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to copies of press releases from the original comic series, artwork and sketches from the series' creators and even a poster featuring the artwork from the cover of the book.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History is such a well written and expertly laid out book that it would be hard to imagine a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles not wanting to pick up a copy of the book. The release is a luxury item with a high asking price at $50, but longtime fans of the franchise will find it is well worth the money being asked. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History will be available from Insight Editions starting June 24, 2014.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History is now available for pre-order from most major retailers and Insight Editions and can be purchased for $50.00.
