Farming Simulator 14 Review for PS Vita

Focus Home Interactive and Giants Software have announced the release of Farming Simulator 14 for Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita with the chance for gamers to take their virtual farm on the go. Farming Simulator 14 is a simplistic game that requires players to tend to a virtual farm where they can grow crops, tend to livestock and even sell the products they create. Farming Simulator 14 delivers the excitement of virtual farming to handheld devices with beautiful visuals, fun gameplay and realistic sound effects. Are you ready to become a virtual farmer in Farming Simulator 14? Read on to find out!

After downloading Farming Simulator 14 from the PlayStation Store, gamers are ready to begin their adventure and start their farm. Farming Simulator 14 starts the game by allowing players to choose their difficulty level alongside the option to read a short tutorial for controls and gameplay. It will take a moment to figure out of the game controls for controlling your actual vehicles and farm machinery but within minutes you will be on your way to becoming a modern-day farmer.

Farming Simulator 14 is a great simulation game because it actually makes the player feel like they are really taking care of a farm due to the high degree of realism employed during gameplay. The directional buttons on the PS Vita are used to switch between your vehicles from well-known manufacturers like Case IH and Lamborghini while you cultivate your fields and load the product into trailers to be stored or sold. The right-handed buttons like the triangle, circle, square and X are used to unhook or hook up trailers and move your vehicle in forward or reverse. Gamers are required to fulfill a series of steps before reaping the rewards unlike games like Farmville which adds a degree of challenge and fun to Farming Simulator 14. For example, you need to harvest the corn until your vehicle storage is full in which case you will need to bring a trailer to haul away some of the product before continuing to plow. Once you have harvested your crop then you must use the cultivator to prepare the field for sowing before you replant more crops. Players are limited to three fields when they first start out which need harvested or cultivated with the last field having grass that needs dried out in order to have hay for your livestock. Every little detail of real-life farming has been added into Farming Simulator 14 to add more diversity to gameplay and create a highly addictive experience that almost anyone can enjoy.

Players can keep up with their progress through the statistics and prices panel that gives detailed information on how your farm is doing, how full your storage containers are, the current market prices of goods and much more. As you acquire more money through selling your crops, then you can slowly start to upgrade your farm equipment to better transports, tractors, harvesters and so forth that can do the job more efficiently while saving you some time in the process. Everything in Farming Simulator 14 is connected and keeps the farm running, for example, in order to get milk from the cattle then you will need to harvest hay to feed them. If you find yourself having trouble or want to know more about something in the game, a friendly older gentleman will pop-up on your game screen with some useful tips or information, and he does look a little bit like Hershel from The Walking Dead which is quite a treat. Did you ever imagine what Hershel's life was like before the apocalypse? Well Farming Simulator 14 may give a little more insight into the farmer & vet's life before the zombie outbreak! However, please remember that Farming Simulator 14 and The Walking Dead are in no way related but this is just a virtual LARP that gamers might enjoy doing.

Farming Simulator 14 has great camera movement that will allow players to zoom in on equipment and look around their farm. The game may start out a little challenging due to trying to figure out the operational procedures for running the farm but once you have the hang of it then it may get a little repetitive to some players due to having to do some processes over and over. There are some confusing moments in the game when the small tips aren't quite enough to progress through the game which can become frustrating to a point and require additional research on the part of the player. However, once the player becomes immersed in Farming Simulator 14's intricate gameplay then they will notice that the title offers enough variety to keep things going for hours or even weeks.

In the end, Farming Simulator 14 is a solid title that offers up beautiful visuals, realistic farming sounds and addictive gameplay. There may be parts of Farming Simulator 14 that seem like a chore and become insanely repetitive, but the complex farming simulation makes up for it with the stunning presentation and challenging gameplay. Farming Simulator 14 delivers an overall rewarding experience that manages to give a true simulation experience that any aspiring virtual farmer can appreciate.

Farming Simulator 14 is now available from all major retailers for the MSRP of $39.99 and can be purchased for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. Farming Simulator 14 is rated E by the ESRB. For more information on the game, check out the official Farming Simulator 14 website.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
