In order to defeat your opponent, you will utilize your deck of cards or "library" in the game. Players draw seven cards at the first of the game with the option to redraw if they do not like their cards. Each deck has specific colors, with the green deck specializing in large, powerful creatures. An important aspect of Magic 2015 is utilizing your resources with the main resource being mana. Players will play "land" cards until the build enough resources to cast spells. To defeat your opponents, you will play creature cards that have their power and toughness displayed in the bottom corner of the card. In order to summon a creature, players will have to use a certain amount of mana depending on the type of card they play which requires the tapping of your land cards. Of course, the cards and spells become more complex as you play and will require you to change up your strategy to succeed. Since players have the option to play the advanced tutorial in Magic 2015 then this helps simplify gameplay throughout the entire Magic 2015 game. If you are not an experienced player, then you will need to use the tutorial instead of skipping it in order to enjoy the game.
Magic 2015 preps players to take on the fiercest hunter in the universe, Garruk Wildspeaker, who you must find and stop before he takes you out! Gamers can now move across five different planes to battle fierce foes and save the land of Multiverse. There are five decks to choose from when you start which are White, Blue, Black, Red and Green. Players will build their deck based on their style of play with each color representing the different aspects of that particular deck. For example, the White deck represents white magic for protecting and defending allies while Blue represents blue magic for air, water and things of the mind. The deck you build will have a huge impact on gameplay and combat mechanics and will impact the strategy you use for defeating your opponents. Building the perfect deck not only takes practice but a certain degree of skill and expertise.
Magic 2015 has exquisite visuals alongside the beautiful artwork and animations to create a superb presentation for playing your hand of cards. The game's soundtrack creates the perfect ambiance and atmosphere for enjoying each game and makes the player feel like they are inside the Magic universe. The game menu has seen an overhaul with the new release with added features to enjoy in the "options" segment. The new options will allow players to turn on certain features automatically with some there to purposefully help new players that will display hints during gameplay.
The multiplayer portion of Magic 2015 is now more immersive and challenging with the new ability to customize your deck. While the Two-Headed Giant matches are no longer available, players can still enjoy the ability to play against their opponents in various free-for-all matches. The new addition of custom decks adds a high degree of replayability to Magic 2015 since you never know what kind of deck your opponent will play which creates a very realistic multiplayer experience.
